Agnes Catledge Blanton

Born: August 18, 1919
Died: August 13, 2014

Agnes Catledge Blanton, passed away at DMH Wednesday, August 13th, surrounded by her family. She would have been 95 August 18th.
Mrs. Blanton was born in Quitman GA, graduated from Madison County High School in Madison, FL and later moved to Taylor County where she married W. Earl Blanton, Sr. She was a substitute teacher at the little one-room school house formerly located on Johnson-Stripling Rd, a clerk and assistant manager of Wells Jewelers, worked the registration desk in the ER at Doctors Memorial Hospital and retired from Texgas Corporation. She continued to work part-time as a caregiver with the Taylor Adult Center and was an Avon representative for over 25 years. She was a master quilter and avid bingo player. She was of Baptist faith. She was a former member of the Eastern Star, and member of Perry Elks Lodge where she volunteered to work with the charity events supporting Veterans and youth. She was dedicated to supporting the annual Breakfast with Santa event.
She is preceded in death by her husband W. Earl Blanton, Sr, parents H.T. Catledge Sr and his wife Lola, her three brothers Lawrence, Bob and Tom Catledge, her grandsons Tyson Clark and Austin Gibson, and granddaughter Sherri Blanton Hurst.
Survivors include son W.E. (Bill) Blanton, Jr, daughter Earline B Neeley (Tom), grandchildren Shanon Westberry (Lisa), Gina Blanton, Will Blanton (Michelle), W.E. (Bo) Blanton, III (Bridget), and Nicole Ratliff (Todd), 12 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great granddaughter, a host of nieces and nephews, and extended family Edward & Kaye Mock and children.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Big Bend Hospice or charity of your choice..
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 11AM, Southside Baptist Church in Perry, FL with Brother Bill Jenkins officiating.
