U.S. VeteranFrank J. McDonald Jr., Palm City FL, formerly of Clarks Green, PA., passed away peacefully August 2, 2014 at the age of 90.

Born and raised in Scranton, PA, Frank was the son of Frank J. McDonald Sr. and Margaret W. McDonald.

He was a graduate of Scranton Central High School and Lafayette College. Frank served in the U.S. Navy during World War II on the battleship USS North Carolina as a lieutenant who was awarded several medals and battle stars.

He was the owner of McDonald & Company, an insurance adjusting firm headquartered in Scranton. He served as a director of Pennsylvania Millers Mutual Insurance Company for 27 years, being President of the Board of Directors, chairman of PMH Co. and the American Millers Insurance Company for 8 years. Frank was the past president of the Pennsylvania Association of Independent Insurance Adjusters.

He is survived by Inger M. Pearson, partner and devoted companion, his daughters; Lyn Coyne (John) Wayne, PA, Laine Jacoby(Robert), Chestnut Hill, PA, his stepson George Rowbottom III, Walpole, NH, six grandchildren, his sister Mary Jean Curtin, Clarks Green and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his wife Margot (Williams) McDonald and their daughter Pamela Ann McDonald.
Frank was a member of Harbour Ridge Yacht and Country Club and a former member of the Country Club of Scranton, the Waverly Club and the Scranton Club.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday August 9, 2014 at 10:00 am from St. Gregory’s Church, 330 N. Abington Rd., Clarks Green.

Friends may visit with the family at the church from 9:00am – 10:00am.

Contributions may be made in Frank’s name to Lafayette College, 730 High St, Easton, PA 18042.
