Harlow Donald Shaw was born on May 16, 1927 on a homestead in Miles City, MT, and passed away on June 15, 2014, in Redding, CA at the age of 87.
Harlow will be greatly missed by his children Cathy (Rich) Detwiler, Rio Linda and Mark (Michelle) Shaw, Redding. He will always be remembered by his grandchildren: Stephen (Heather) Woolery, Newark, CA; John (Holly) Woolery, Shasta Lake; Monica Scott, Redding; Tanner & Carson Shaw, Redding; and his great-grandchildren: Danielle & Natalie Moore, Shasta Lake; and Katelyn Woolery, Texas. He is also survived by his sister Vickie (Ken) McFarlin, Folsom. He will also be fondly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews.
Harlow was preceded in death by his loving wife of 47 years, Patricia (Ulm); his parents, George and Hazel; his brothers Marvin and Glen; and his sisters Betty, Lila "Dolly", and Joan.
Harlow served in the Merchant Marines during World War II and then served in the U.S. Army in the 1950s.
Harlow was a self-employed truck driver, who helped to build many roads and projects in California.
Services will be held on Friday, June 20, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Allen & Dahl Funeral Chapel, 2030 Howard St, Anderson, CA. Graveside services will follow at Anderson Cemetery.
