Paul “PAL” Martel, 70, of Manchester, NH, died June 14, 2014, after a period of declining health.
Born in Manchester, NH on August 14, 1943, he was the son of Philibert and Laurette (Lemay) Martel. He was a lifelong resident of the Queen City.
Paul was a graduate of Manchester Memorial High School.
Until his retirement, he was a custodian with the Manchester School District for twenty years, primarily at Central High School.
Devoted to his faith, he was a longtime communicant of Saint Anthony Church.
Paul will be remembered for his generous and selfless ways. He touched the lives of many. He was a simple yet powerful man. An avid sports fan, he volunteered hundreds of hours of service at the JFK Coliseum, Gill Stadium, Manchester Central Little League, Manchester Pony League, and Manchester South Soccer. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and the youth of Manchester.
Family members include two brothers, Robert P. Martel and his wife, Paula, of Manchester, and David P. Martel of Hampton; several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and many dear friends.
Service: Following cremation, a celebration of his life will be held Wednesday from 4 to 7PM at the Connor-Healy Funeral Home and Cremation, 537 Union Street, corner of Concord Street, Manchester, NH.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10AM in Saint Anthony Church, Belmont Street, Manchester, NH.
Urn burial will take place at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Manchester, NH at a later date.
