Mr. David Kornstein, 83, of New London passed away on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital
He was born on April 9, 1931 in New Jersey the son of the late Hyman and Bessie Yudisky Kornstein.
Mr. Kornstein was married on Oct. 10, 1954 in Bayonne, New Jersey to the former Sheila Raynes.
David was a graduate of the U. S. Merchant Marine Academy at King’s Point, NY and served in the Navy during the Korean War.
He was a self-employed engineer, having owned his own business for over 4o years specializing in self- adhesive lettering for the recreational industry.
Besides his wife Sheila, he is also survived by his daughter Julie K. Snoke, and her husband Jay of Waterford, a son Howard R. Kornstein, and his wife Robin of Lexington, MA, his brother Irving Kornstein of New Jersey and four grandchildren Deena, Isaac, Daria and Leah.
Graveside services will be held at 1 pm Friday at the Beth- El Cemetery in Groton.
Shiva will be held on Saturday June 7, from 4 to 8 pm at his residence in New London.
Mr. Kornstein’s family would like to express their gratitude to the Greentree Manor in Waterford for the respect and care that they showed over the last four years and also wish to thank the Center for Hospice Care for the compassion shown to David.
