Born: August 22, 1933
Died: May 30, 2014
Lois Ann Harvey was born on August 22, 1933 in Duluth, Minnesota.
One of 9 children raised on a small family farm during the Depression, she learned the value of hard work at a young age.
She moved to California in 1954 and then to Redding in 1957 with her husband Jerry Harvey.
Lois worked as a retail clerk at Farmer's Market until her retirement in 1982. Whether she was volunteering for swim team or whipping up her famous apple pie, she loved to laugh and always enjoyed whatever she was doing and whoever she was with. An accomplished seamstress, Lois could craft anything out of fabric and spent her life sewing blankets, clothes, costumes, and wedding outfits for her friends and family. Her sense of humor, storytelling, and giving nature was renowned.
She is survived by her children Julie and Rob Buick, Joni and Kurt Vollmers, Jamie and Paula Harvey, LeiLani and Steve Jeffcoat, and Jon Harvey; as well as her grandchildren Senator Chase and Camille Buick, Naomi Vollmers, and Erika and Eddie Harvey.
We were lucky to have known her, and our lives are full because of her.
There will be a celebration of life to follow in July.
