Frank L. Grass

U.S. VeteranFrank L. Grass, 83, of Chalfont, PA died on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at Neshaminy Manor in Warrington, PA.

He was the loving husband of LaRue (Maurer) Grass for 62 years. Frank was born in Hilltown, PA to the late Leidy and Rosetta (Lewis) Grass.

He was a graduate of the class of 1948 from Hilltown High School, and was a former partner of Haring Brothers Butcher Shop in Plumsteadville. Frank served in the US Army during the Korean conflict.

He was a member of a 4-H Club in Dairy during his school years. Frank enjoyed coaching for the Deep Run Little League Baseball Association. In 1995, he was selected to the Hall of Fame of the Deep Run Baseball Association. Frank was a former member of the Loyal Order of the Moose in Quakertown PA. He was a Phillies and Cardinals fan who enjoyed gardening and was especially known for his beautiful roses. Frank was a life member of Hilltown Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, LaRue, he is survived by: two sons, Keith D. Grass of Chalfont, PA, Scott K. Grass and his wife, Debbie of Lafayette, IN; two daughters, Patricia L. Heckenberger and her husband, Charles of Perkasie, PA, Tammy L. Beck and her husband, Jeff of Perkasie, PA; eight grandchildren, Nathan, Meredith, Christopher, Lindsey, Allison, Derrick, Heather and Dana and a great grandson, Holden; two sisters in law, Sadie Grass of Souderton and Marian Grass of Florida.

He was preceded in death by: two brothers, Bernyce and Ralph Grass.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at 11:00 am at Hilltown Baptist Church, 26 Upper Church Road, Chalfont, PA 18914 where friends may meet with the family from 9:00 am to 11:00 am.

Burial will take place at Hilltown Baptist Church Cemetery.
