Mildred was no stranger to working hard and was always busy doing something if not for work then for someone in need. She worked as a dress maker in NYC and New Jersey making samples for Lane Bryant and Pee coats during the war. She cared for her aged mother and raised her daughter after the early death of her first husband. When she married Anthony she helped him raise his younger boys Ronald and David. She has lived in Passaic, Wayne and Parsippany, New Jersey before moving to Bradenton Florida in 1989. While living in Wayne, New Jersey she was instrumental in helping form The Lady of the Valley Women’s group along with Maryann Csencsits and Father Ruegel.
She loved ALL flowers and could tell you them all by name. She especially liked roses, and African violets. She loved nature and always pointed out the different trees, the ways they were growing and animals that lived in them. She loved going on walks especially with someone so she could teach them about nature. She loved going to the Gulf of Mexico to watch the beautiful sunsets which we tried to do every Friday after dinner. She was nicknamed the Energizer Bunny because she never stopped and was always ready to go go go…
She passed Love, Wisdom, Guidance and Encouragement on to everyone she touched. She was quick with a smile and always very happy. Her favorite saying was “Look for the Good in the people and You will become better yourself”, Life is all about what you put your focus on so she wanted us to focus on what good qualities they had and not negatives.
