Catherine D. Ayotte, 93, of Manchester, NH, died April 24, 2014, after a period of declining health.
Born in Lowell, MA on August 11, 1920, she was the daughter of John and Jenny (Nagle) Maloney. She resided in Chelmsford, MA for many years before moving to the Queen City in 1958.
She graduated from Lowell High School, Class of 1938. She received her LPN training from Tewksbury State Hospital.
In her early years, she worked at Sacred Heart Hospital. Later, she was a ward secretary at the Elliot Hospital until her retirement.
Mrs. Ayotte was a member of Saint Hedwig Church where she was a director of the Lunch Program of the parish. Afterwards, she was communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church.
She was a member of the Bedford Seniors and served as president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veteran of Foreign Wars. She was an active volunteer with the Salvation Army for many years.
A loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, her family was the center of her life. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, needlepoint, and ceramics.
She was married forty-four years to Raymond J. Ayotte. He died March 12, 1984. She was also predeceased by a brother, Vincent B. Maloney.
Family members include two sons, Raymond V. Ayotte and his wife, Diane, of Hooksett and John R. Ayotte and his wife, Robin, of Manchester; her daughter, Kathleen A. Wagner and her husband, Bernie, of Union, KY; five grandchildren, Jennifer, Jodi, Matthew, Shannon, and Erin, six great-grandchildren, David, Joey, Madalyn, Mia, Austin, and Elisia; several nieces and nephews. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Services: Calling hours are Tuesday from 9 to 11AM at the Connor-Healy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 537 Union Street, corner of Concord Street, Manchester, NH.
The funeral will be held Tuesday with a mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at 11:30AM in Blessed Sacrament Church, Manchester, NH.
Burial will follow in St. Hedwig Cemetery, Bedford, NH.
