Stanley Melvin Blake, "Stan" left this earth and entered God's kingdom from the comfort of his home and favorite chair on Sunday, April 20, 2014, in Rancho Murieta, California at the age of 86. He is survived by his beloved wife, Earlene Blake of Rancho Murieta; his daughters, Susan Ann Clark of Rancho Murieta and her husband Dale Thomas Briggs, and Cheryl Lynn Zuniga of Stockton, California and her husband Joseph Edward Zuniga Senior; his daughter-in-law, Lucia Antoinette Blake of Jackson, California; his sister, Marion Milton of Piedmont, California, and his five beloved granddaughters, Morgan Maria Blake, Justine Marie, Kayla Nicole and Lauren Olivia Cain, Natalie Nicole Clark, his beloved grandsons Martin Kenneth Blake and Joseph Edward Zuniga Junior, and his great-granddaughter, Kenleigh Carson Fernandes. Stanley, the youngest of two children, was born on July 16, 1927, in Oakland, California. Stanley attended Fremont High School, and graduated with the class of 1945. After high school, he enlisted in the Navy and served his country for the duration of the war. Stanley met his beautiful bride, Earlene Dora Warren of Oakland, California when Stanley was 19 years old. He married his lovely bride on February 22, 1948, and enjoyed over 66 years of marital bliss. The two originally settled in the Castro Valley area in 1948 and lived in Livermore, Pioneer, Volcano, Cameron Park and lastly, Rancho Murieta. Stanley was employed by the Pacific Telephone Company for over 33 years retiring in 1980.   Earlene and Stan have been long time residents at the Rancho Murieta Mobile Home Park in Rancho Murieta for a total of 9 years, collectively. Stanley loved his family, western movies, the Dallas Cowboys and always had a twinkle in his eye and a smile on his face. He had great sense of humor and shared many laughs and wonderful times with friends and family. He will be greatly missed by family, friends and his beloved pet, “Hoppy” whom he adored. Services will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at the Sunset View Cemetery, 10200 State Highway 88 in Jackson, California, with reception immediately following at 1:30 pm at the Rancho Murieta Club House, 7191 Murieta Parkway, Rancho Murieta, California. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The American Heart Association.
