PEORIA – Ricardo M. Eduvas, 81, of Peoria passed away at 1:44 a.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home.
Ricardo was born February 7, 1933, in Balintawak, Philippines, to Ignacio and Ciriaca (Magsalin) Eduvas. He married Leonor Catague on June 21, 1968, in Galesburg. She survives.
He is also survived by two sons, Rey (Nancy) Eduvas of Savage, MN, and Rob (Kellie) Eduvas of Peoria; two grandchildren, Zachary and Maya; three step-grandchildren, Rikki Grassel, Shelby Burgess, and Sean Burgess; two step-great-grandchildren, Christopher Burgess and Parker Burgess; and two sisters, Rufina Ebdane and Magdalena Magsino both of the Philippines.
He was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.
Ricardo graduated from the University of Santo Tomas in the Philippines, and worked as a medical technologist at OSF St. Francis Medical Center for over 30 years.
He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and the Filipino American Society of Central Illinois. He loved cooking, fishing, and gardening.
A funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at Holy Family Catholic Church. Franciscan Friars will officiate. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2014, at Wright & Salmon Mortuary, with recitation of the Rosary at 8 p.m. An additional visitation will be 30 minutes prior to the Mass at the church. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
