William G. Deichert died on March 20th after a brief battle with pneumonia and a much longer war with Parkinson's Disease. Bill was a longtime member of the American Chemical Society and a graduate in 1952 of Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute.
Bill was a Research Chemist and completed his career as a Principal Scientist at Bausch & Lomb in Rochester, NY, where he was presented with the President's Achievement Award. Specializing in product and process design based on polymer chemistry, he had numerous patents and publications and a long history of technical collaboration. He and wife Lillian (who pre-deceased him in 2010) loved sailing and gardening near their home outside Rochester, NY.
A brief service will be held at Profetta's Funeral Home in Webster, NY Tuesday March 25 at 10AM.
Bill is survived by his children Robert, Jack, Rosalyn, step-son David, and numerous grand-children and great grand-children.
He was respected by all who knew him and loved by all who were close to him.
