Born: November 21, 1949
Died: March 18, 2014
Lewis Ludwig, 64, of Boonton Township, passed from our lives too soon on Tuesday, March 18, 2014. Lew was married to the love of his life, Eileen (nee Fox) for 30 years, and was the devoted father of Danny and Matt. He could not have been more proud of “his boys”. All who knew him understood, without question, that his family was his world. Lew was born on November 21, 1949 in Pennsylvania and has been a resident of Boonton Township since 1999.
For over 10 years, Lew served as Principal of Mountain Lakes High School. There he passionately championed public education and always embodied the ideal that the students come first. He had most recently been acting as Interim Principal at Pequannock High School. Lew began his career as an educator at Rutherford High School.
His illustrious career in education spanned over 40 years, and encompassed numerous administrative appointments at Roxbury High School, Bridgewater, Bernards, and Parsippany Hills High Schools.
Lew is survived by his wife and children, his loving parents, Kathleen and William (Ludy), his brothers, Bob and Ed, their wives Helga and Elaine, and their children, as well as, countless family members including the entire Fox family, and friends who will miss him dearly. A private viewing and service was held at the family’s request.
Friends and family are invited to a gathering to honor and remember Lew on Saturday, March 22nd, from 2pm to 5pm, in Mountain Lakes High School Auditorium. In lieu of flowers, a Memorial Fund in Lew’s memory is being established. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to everyone for their overwhelming love and support in their time of grief.
