Robert W. Treuvey, 83, of Pompton Lakes, passed away on January 23, 2014.
Born in Paterson, Robert was the son of the late Ernest and Edith Treuvey. He graduated from Butler High School and later graduated from Alfred University. He started his career as a property inspector for the Mutual Service Office and worked his way up to president, leaving after 28 years. He then served as vice president of research and product development at Warwick Insurance Company and retired as a self-employed insurance marketing consultant. Robert had worked as a professional jazz musician, raced cars at Lime Rock, enjoyed sailing and was an avid golfer.
Robert is survived by his wife of 30 years, Laura “Pepper” Treuvey; his children, Robert, James and his wife Enid, Phillip and Amy; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held 10:00 am Tuesday, January 28 at the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, Pompton Plains. Interment will follow at Laurel Grove Memorial Park, Totowa. Visiting hours will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Monday at the funeral home.
