U.S. VeteranCharles (Bill) W. Best 89 of Duncan, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at the Country Club Care.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, January 11, 2014 at the First Baptist Church with Dr.Bryan Pain officiating, interment will be at Rock Creek Cemetery in the Central Community, arrangements are under the direction of Carter-Smart Funeral Home.

Family visitation will be Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Bill was born February 4, 1924 in Rifle, Colorado to Acel & Lucille (Cash) Best, Bill was a graduate of Empire High School, was a veteran of W.W.ll serving in the U.S. Navy, he was a supervisor for Sun Oil Company before retiring after 40 years. Bill was an active member of First Baptist Church and served as a Deacon. He loved to play golf and travel with his wife, Colleen. Bill was a family man and enjoyed spending time with his siblings, children, grandkids, and great grandkids. He loved nothing better than a new baby added to the family. Bill had a true love of sports and spent many summers fly fishing in Colorado with his friends and family.

Bill married Colleen Wylder December 7, 1945 in Long Beach, California and celebrated 68 years of marriage.

Bill is survived by his wife; Colleen of the home, son; Mickey & wife Wryn Best of Granbury, Texas, daughters; Charlene Best of Guthrie, Oklahoma, Sharon Smith of Duncan, Oklahoma, sisters; Bernice Koehler of California, Dean McClennen of Duncan, Oklahoma, Wanda Liles of Duncan, Oklahoma, Marie & husband Cecil Chatham of Moore,Oklahoma, Almeda & husband Charles Dehart of Yukon, Oklahoma and eight grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; Acel & Lucille Best and a brother
