Catherine T. Alderfer

Born: February 22, 1919
Died: December 20, 2013

Catherine T. (Greaser) Alderfer - 94, of Lansdale; formerly of Souderton, PA went home to be with her Lord on Friday, December 20, 2013 at Dock Woods.

She was the loving wife of the late Henry R. Alderfer for 56 years. Catherine was born in Lederach, PA to the late Samuel Z. & Rae B. (Tyson) Greaser.

She was employed as an Office Clerk for Clemmer Moving & Storage for more than 8 years. Catherine volunteered at the Care & Share Thrift Shoppes in Souderton and the Acorn Shop at Dock Woods Community. She loved her family, music and reading. Catherine made counted cross-stitch quilts for each of her grandchildren. She enjoyed playing games, cards and dominos. Catherine also played in the Chimes Choir at the Dock Woods Community. She was always pleasant and was known for her smile. Catherine enjoyed traveling with her late husband both nationally and internationally including a trip to Nigeria. She had a group of friends who started "The Gang Picnic" and met annually in Blooming Glen. Catherine was a member of Souderton Mennonite Church.

She is survived by her two daughters, Linda Grasse & husband, Warren L. of Telford, PA, Doreen Clemmer & husband, Leroy M. of Harleysville, PA; her two grandsons, Christopher Clemmer & wife, Corey of Harleysville, PA, Eric Clemmer & wife, Lisa of Phoenix, MD; her two granddaughters, Melanie Anders & husband, Steven of Telford, PA, Lorina Hunsberger & husband, Travis of Telford, PA and her ten great-grandchildren – Wade, Ashlyn, Peyton, Reese, Kendall, Marley, Audyn, Ella, Ethan and Rylan.

In addition to her parents and husband, Catherine was preceded in death by her sister, Beulah Souder.

A funeral services will be held on Friday, December 27, 2013 at 11:00 am at Dock Woods Community Chapel, 275 Dock Drive, Lansdale, Pennsylvania 19446 where friends may view and meet with the family from 9:30 am – 11:00 am.

Burial will take place at Souderton Mennonite Cemetery.
