Died: November 09, 2013

A devoted mother and grandmother, she passed on November 9th at the Ellis Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Norwood following a brief illness. She was 78 years of age. Born in Providence, RI, she was the daughter of the late Emit and Mary (Murphy) Woodward. Her family settled in Chelsea shortly after her birth and as a young child she was raised in Chelsea and attended local schools. In 1955, she married Alvin “Skippy” Jones and together they settled in Norwood to raise their family. After spending a number of years in Norwood, they later settled in Duxbury for a short time before taking residence in Boston’s North End. A devoted wife and mother, she was dedicated to her home and family. Patricia was predeceased by her beloved husband in 2004 after sharing 49 years of marriage. She was a wonderful cook, she enjoyed traveling with friends, watching movies and loved the Boston Red Sox. Patricia will be remembered for having a lot of spunk.

She is the beloved wife of the late Alvin D. “Skippy” Jones. Devoted mother of David Jones of Norwood, Robert Jones and his wife Marcie of Mansfield, Michael Jones and his wife Kim of Norton, Patty Hubbert and her husband Ted of Jacksonville, OR, Julie Roche and her husband Sean of Milton and the late Steven Jones and his surviving wife Karen Sennett. Dear sister of the late Mary “Adeline” Aiken, Emmett “Buddy” Woodward, Roy “Mickey” Woodward and sister in law of Richard Aiken. Cherished grandmother of Samantha, Alex, Julia, Morgan, Mary Rose, James, Jack, Marilyn, Robbie and Ruby. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Her Funeral will begin from the Frank A. Welsh & Sons Funeral Home 718 Broadway CHELSEA on Saturday, November 16th at 9:30 A.M. Followed by a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Grace Church, 59 Nichols St. Chelsea at 10:30 A.M. Services will conclude with Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. Relatives and friends are most kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the Welsh Funeral Home on Friday from 4 - 8 P.M.
