Mark G. Booher, age 92 of Hesperia, passed away Friday, November 8, 2013 at the Grand Rapids Home for Veteran’s. Mark was born on September 21, 1921 in Denver Township to James Henry and Manilla Vera (Gleason) Booher and graduated from Hesperia High School. Mark joined the United States Navy where he served on PT boats in the Pacific Theater during World War II. After his return to Hesperia, Mark started work at Gleason Saw Mill in Hesperia where he became the head sawyer and later retired from the Wilson Saw Mill in Hesperia. Mark had enjoyed attending horse racing events and was a great dad, grand dad, brother, uncle and friend.
Mark is survived by his 3 daughters, Furlo (Charles) Bengtsson of Hesperia; Kimba (Larry) Morse of Hesperia; Micklene Booher of Sparta; 6 grandchildren, Shaira (Matthew) Reimenschneider; Kaurie (Dan) Workman; Shane (Devria Lalonde) Morse; Brent (Jennifer) Morse; Trevor (April) Morse; Tim (Paula Thompson) Bengtsson; 9 great grandchildren; 3 brothers, Wesley Quinn (Barb Thompson) Booher of Fremont; Jimmy (Rita) Booher of Hesperia; Dennis Booher of Hesperia. Mark was preceded in death by his son, Perry Booher; 5 brothers, Dick Booher, Gerald Booher, Dale Booher, Donald Booher, Carl Booher; 5 sisters, Jane Reynolds, Joy Booher, Arlene Booher, Joanne Booher, Joyce Booher.
Following Mark’s wishes no services will be held following cremation with interment of the cremated remains at Christ The King Catholic Cemetery in Hesperia next to his son, Perry. Friends are asked to consider memorial contributions to the Fremont Area Community Foundation for the Perry Booher Scholorship Fund.
