Charles D. Lamb, 78, of Clinton, MO, formerly of Amherst, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013, at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, MO, with family at his side.
He was born on July 20, 1935, in Milwaukee, the son of Raymond and Sophie Coda Lamb.
He attended school in Amherst and on November 20, 1956, he entered the United States Army serving until his honorable discharged on November 19, 1958. On May 18, 1963, he was united in marriage to Rita Pomerenke at St. James Catholic Church in Amherst.
Charles worked at American Motors before serving in the US Army. Most of his life he was a mechanic and owned and operated the Amherst Skelly Station. He also owned and drove a school bus and worked at Larry Farms.
He was active in Amherst Lions Club, Amherst Fair Board and Little Britches Rodeo.
In 2000, he and his wife moved to Tightwad-Racket area in Missouri. Charles enjoyed bowling, woodworking, gardening and playing cards.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Dennis.
He is survived by his wife, Rita, of the home, a brother, James (Judy) Lamb of Custer, WI and a sister, Mary (Roger) Vass, of Amherst, WI, many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Charles wishes were to be cremated and interred in the Wisconsin Veteran's Home Cemetery in King, WI.
Cremation and arrangements were entrusted to the care of the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw, MO.
