Harold S. Baum, Jr., age 87, longtime resident of Carol Stream, IL, died October 10. He was born to Harold and Marjorie (nee Thrailkill) Baum in Kansas City, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his wife Jeanne T. Baum (nee Twigg) in 1986.
He is the loving father of daughter, Linda (Bradley) Burdick of Elmhurst; son, Harold A. (Cathy) Baum of Glendale Heights; son, Edward (the late Janice) Baum of Winfield; daughter, Dyan Jacquin (Michael) Bryskier of Chicago.
He is the proud Grandfather of Kimberly (Nick), Allison, Ashley, Andrew (Angela), Amanda, Peter, Jeanna; and Great-grandfather of Avery, Emmett, Alyssa, Skylar, Tyler, Ryder, Miles, Athena and Eshaya.
Harold is also survived by his brother William (the late Verna) Baum; Richard (the late Laverne) Baum and many loving nieces and nephews.
Harold served our country in the U.S. Navy during World War II on the USS Halligan. He was also stationed at NTSch Lake Union in Seattle, WA; Berthing Area at Tongue Pt. Naval Station in Astoria, OR and PSC USNB In Bremerton, WA. He received the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal-Five Stars; the Philippine Liberation Medal-Two Stars and the World War II Victory Medal. He was a valued member of the Wheaton VFW and American Legion.
A memorial visitation will be held Friday, October 18, from 3:00 until the time of service at, 7:00 pm. All services will be held at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N Main Wheaton IL 60187.
