George R. Pack, 67, passed away at home on October 8. He was Professor of Chemistry and Associate Vice President of Research at the University of Louisville. He previously taught at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford. From pitching in Little League to holding season tickets to Cardinals basketball and football, he was a lifelong sports fan.
Dr. Pack was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Zuffan Girma, and his father, George S. Pack. He is survived by his son, Sasha David (Emilie), of Buffalo, New York; his mother Lydia C. Pack, of Babylon, New York; his four siblings, Lydia C. Burkett (Carl) of Mastic Beach, New York, Thomas W. Pack (Geri) of Kona, Hawaii, Patricia C. Pack (Donald) of Syracuse, New York, and Barbara Hauser (Joel) of Albany, New York; many nieces, nephews, and extended family; and his friend and former wife Yda Okurliand-Pack of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida.
Visiting hours are Friday 5:30pm - 8pm; services Saturday at 10am. Both at Bosse Funeral Home, 1355 Ellison at Barret.
