"Her children rise up and call her blessed”. Dorcas Virginia Hinkle Albright age 97 of Brookdale Senior Living formerly of Hilltop Drive, Lexington passed away Wednesday morning at Brookdale Senior Living.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday at the First Baptist Church where she was a member, with Dr. Ray Howell, III officiating. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall from 10:00 until 11:00 AM prior to the service. Private Inurnment will be in Lexington City Cemetery.

Dorcas was born in Davidson County, June 17, 1916 to Edgar Odell and Florence Berrier Hinkle. She was a retired legal secretary for DeLapp, Hedrick and Harp attorneys. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents; her loving husband, James Armond Albright, who died in 1963; and brothers, Bruce and Dwight Hinkle.

Dorcas was a loving mother and grandmother to; daughters, Kay Albright of Lexington, Marlyn (Molly) Albright Michael (Blake) of Delaware, Ohio; sons, Ron Albright of Winston Salem and Odell Albright (Linnea) of Charlotte; grandchildren, Meredith Mundell (Chris) of Columbus, Ohio, Emily Virginia Albright of Summerville, SC, Liza Theiling (Eric) of Blufton, SC, Jamie Albright of Charlottesville, VA, and Amanda Albright of Chapel Hill; great-grandchildren, Cameron and Madlyn Mundell; several dear nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials should be directed to the Martha Best Children’s Center of First Baptist Church, PO Box 436, Lexington, NC 27293.

The family would like to express their thanks to the staff of Carolina House for all their love and support to our mother and to a special caregiver, Kaye Roberts.
