Ramona L. Bishop

Ramona Bishop, of Duncan, passed away Thursday, August 8, 2013 at Wilkins Nursing Center.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 12, 2013 at Carter-Smart Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Alton Hutto officiating, interment will be at Fairlaw Cemetery, arrangements are under the direction of Carter-Smart Funeral Home.

There will be a family visitation Sunday afternoon from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ramona was born June 11, 1940 in Waurika, Oklahoma to Beeler & Mary Lee(Benton) Roden in Waurika, Oklahoma. Ramona as a small child lived in Globe, Arizonia, before moving back to Duncan wher she attended Duncan Schools and graduated from Duncan High School in 1958, she lived in Frankfurt, Germany wher her daughter Pam wa born. She worked for Halliburton's for twenty three years retiring in 1986, she and Lee lived in Branson, Missouri for twenty years and worked as tour guides for Orzark Mountian Tour Guide Company.before moving back to Duncan. Ramona married Lee June 10, 1968 in Antlers, Oklahoma, he preceded her in death December 24, 2011. Ramona was a member of the Duncan Senior Citizens and Chickasha Nutrition group; She was a well known wedding planner and musician. She was an avid Blue Grass and Country Western Music Fan and Artist.

Surviors include a daughter; Pam and her husband Jeff Bruehl of Duncan, grandchildren; Adria Tanner and her husband Monty of Monterey, California, Nick and Cody Bruehl of Duncan, Oklahoma, also a great grandaughter Sophia Tanner and numerous nieces and nephews and a sis-in-law; Mary Lee Roden of Claremore, Oklahoma.

Ramona was preceeded in death by her parents, husband Lee in 2011 amd a son; Ronnie Bishop in 1973 and her brother Bobby Carl Roden.
