James A. Young, Jr., age 71, of Blue Springs, MO, passed away, Thursday, July 11, 2013, at home surrounded by his family. Jimmie was born on April 26, 1942, in Clinton, MO, the son of James Albert Sr., and Gladys I. (Vandiver) Young.
Jimmie was a member of the Mid-Town Optimist Club of Independence and the UAW. He worked for General Motors-Leeds Plant for 27 years, retiring in 1992. He was also a prior employee for KATY Railroad and he loved working for the Stanley Auction Service of Sibley, MO and just being with his buddies. He enjoyed hunting and fishing as well.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his paternal and maternal grandparents, and an infant son, James Richard Young.
He is survived by his wife, Linda, of the home, two daughters, Kelly Smith and husband, Ken, of Pleasant Hill, MO, Diana Maust of Grain Valley, MO., two sons, Jeff Young and wife, Tracey of Independence and Dean Roberts, Jr., of Warsaw, 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Judy Hudson of Calhoun, MO, and Sharon Church of Clinton, MO, his mother-in-law, Erma Lee Bradley of Warsaw, other relatives, co-workers and friends.
Memorial services for Jimmie Young will be at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, July 20, 2013, at the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw, MO, with Evangelist Charles Rose officiating.
