Nannie Roberts Beane

Died: July 07, 2013

Nannie Roulette Roberts (Nancy) Beane, 81, of Stonewall Road, Concord, died Sunday afternoon July 7, 2013 at Babcock Manor. She was the wife of Milfred Grayson (Mick) Beane.

Nancy was born in Appomattox County, a daughter of the late Mattie Kate Almond and James William Roberts, Sr. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she served as church secretary, clerk, Sunday school secretary, W.M.U. director, sang in the church choir and assisted in Vacation Bible School. Nancy was a homemaker and a graduate of Virginia Commercial Business School in Lynchburg.

In addition to her husband, Mick, she is survived by her children, Jeffrey Grayson Beane and wife Melissa of Forest and Nancy Beane Dellinger and husband, Kyle of Cary, NC; one grandson, Senior Airman Christopher Grayson Beane and wife, Ashley of Spangdahlem A.F.B., Germany; a sister, Marie Scott and husband, Vernon of Hampton.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, James W. Roberts, Jr., Don Preston Roberts and Richard Hunter Roberts and three sisters, Louise Weeks, Christine Whitehead and Vivian Webb.
A funeral service will be held 3:00 pm, Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at Calvary Baptist Church officiated by the Rev. Chad Harris, Rev. Bob Davis and the Rev. Hugh Bumgarner. Burial will follow in Concord Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Robinson Funeral Home from 7-8:30 PM tonight (Tuesday) and at other times at the residence.
