Peoria- John M. Ruble, 85, of Peoria, died on Thursday, July 4, 2013, at 12:15 p.m. at OSF St. Francis Medical Center.
Born September 5, 1927, in Bicknell, Indiana, to Charles B. and Helen (Finn) Ruble, he married Ann Petro August 20, 1955, in Chicago.
She survives along with four daughters, Nancy (Tenena) Soro of Oak Park, IL, Jean (Dave) Becktel of Wexford, PA, Kathy Ruble of Peoria, Beth (Randy) Tacey of Rock Island, IL; one son, Philip Ruble of Peoria; and two grandchildren, Jackie and David Soro.
He was preceded in death by one son, Tom, and one sister, Helen.
John received his bachelor's and master's degrees from Indiana University, and was a CPA.
John first taught at St. Joseph College in Rensselaer, Indiana, and then was a professor of accounting at Bradley University from 1956 until 1992.
He served as treasurer for Muscular Dystrophy Association in Peoria. He was a member and advisor at Beta Alpha PSI at Bradley University, a volunteer reader for Radio Information Service through Bradley, and volunteered to do tax work for VISTA.
He was a World War ll Navy veteran..
He was a member of St. Philomena Catholic Church.
A Funeral Mass will be on Monday, July 8, 2013, at 10 a.m. at his church, with Fr. David Richardson officiating.
Visitation will be on Sunday from 4p.m. to 6 p.m at Wright & Salmon Mortuary, with recitation of the Rosary preceding at 3:45 p.m.
Further visitation will be thirty minutes prior to the Mass on Monday.
Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
