Denville: Joseph Chervenak passed away at Compassionate Care Hospice/Dover General on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 surrounded by family. He was 90 years of age.
Joseph was born in Rockaway Boro and lived in Mine Hill before settling in Denville in 1960.
He was a WWII Army Air Corp Veteran.
Mr. Chervenak worked in the Scrub Oaks Mine and as a diesel mechanic for Moretrench of Rockaway for 46 years before retiring in 1998.
Member of the American Legion Rockden Post No 175 of Rockaway and St. Mary’s Church, Denville.
Pre-deceased by his wife Madeline (nee Davenport) in 2000 and his siblings: Mike, Carl and Dorothy Booth.
Survived by his two daughters: Kimberly A. Conklin and her husband Brian of Kenvil.
Karin J. Monaco of Mt. Arlington.
Four Grandchildren: Shannon Leonard and her husband Jay.
Joe and Tim Conklin.
Great Granddaughter: Emma Leonard
Two Brothers: Daniel and Paul.
Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held 4-8pm on Friday, June 28 at the Bermingham Funeral Home, 216 S. Main St., Wharton. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday 9am at St. Mary’s Church, Denville. Interment will follow at Denville Cemetery, Savage Road, Denville. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joseph’s memory to your favorite charity would be appreciated.
