Mary "Alyce" Johnston-Bailey was born in Richland, WA June 21,1930. When she was about ten years old her parents bought a fishing boat and moved the family to Ketchikan, Alaska. Ketchikan is where she met the love of her life, Noble "Bill" Bailey. They were married for 57 years. Bill preceded Alyce in death in 2005. Alyce passed away in her sleep April 12, 2013 at Lakewood Christian Care Home in Redding, Ca.
She is survived by her two sons, David (Lori), Steve and daughter Debi (Mike). Survivors also include eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Additional survivors include her sister, Betty as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Bill and Alyce moved to Redding in 1959 where they raised their three children. Alyce was a wonderful wife, devoted grandmother and great-grandmother.
Alyce spent a great deal of time being involved in church activities. She was an excellent homemaker. Anyone who ever had the privilege of knowing Alyce could attest to her baking skills if they had the pleasure of being in receipt of her exceptional homemade cinnamon rolls. Alyce's warm and loving nature will be missed by all who knew her.
A memorial service for Mary "Alyce" will be held at the Redding First Church of the Nazarene 2225 Bechelli Lane Redding, CA on Monday April 22, 2013 at 1:00 p.m.
