Edward Henry Bolinger, age 86, a resident of Wheaton, IL for 47 years, died peacefully Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL.
He was born in Blue Island, IL on March 27, 1926 to Oliver Earl and Lois Edna Bolinger. He spent his early childhood in Villa Park, IL, then moved to Argos, IN with his family. After graduation from Argos High School in 1944 he served his country in WWII, being inducted into the Army, Company A, 228th Infantry. After military service he attended International College in Ft. Wayne, IN where he majored in accounting. In 1946 he was hired at Allied Mills, Inc., where he worked in different accounting-related positions in various company facilities until his retirement in 1991. He married Peggy Louise McGuire of Mexico, IN in 1948.
He was a good friend and neighbor to many, and in 1997, along with his wife Peggy, was honored with a “Good Citizenship” award from the Wheaton City Council.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Peggy; daughters Ann Louise (John) Schwendler of Belleville, IL, and Jean Elizabeth Bolinger of Hudson, MA; sister Doris Earline (Robert) Kingsafer of South Bend, IN; grandchildren Sara and Jason May, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two siblings, brother Ora Raymond Bolinger and sister Esther Lois (Roy) Reed.
A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2013, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service to be held at 2:00 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton IL 60187. Interment will be private.
