Died: April 03, 2013

George Attaway

He was a good man. A very good man, full of integrity and devotion to all he loved and cherished. Deeply rooted in his Christian faith, he believed in the goodness of the world and in the people who were fortunate enough to come his way.

Intelligent and multi-talented, he was a consummate artist and an avid writer. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, generosity of spirit and the freedom with which he shared himself.

His wife, Virginia, whom he referred to as “the wind beneath my wings” and the love of his life, passed on before him. He follows her now, no longer missing her, but finding his peace.

At age 77, he leaves in his wake a family which mourns his loss but celebrates his life. His three daughters, Kerri, Vicki, and Dana are a triad of strength and hope even as they grieve now in his newfound absence.

His sisters, Mary Beth and Janelle, survive him, as do his four grandchildren Nicholas, Layla, Corey, and Cameron, and sons-in-law Larry and Reza. New to his life were Bryan, Kimber-lyn, Alex, daughter-in-law Kimmie, great grandson Harrison and great granddaughter MacKenzie.

George was a good trooper, one of God’s finest sets of hands and feet, and ever so deeply loved.

Visitation will be at DeBerry Funeral Directors on Friday, April 5, 2013 from 6-8 pm. The memorial service will be at 3:00 pm on Saturday, April 6, 2013 in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the SpiritHorse Therapeutic Riding Center, www.spirithorsetherapy.com.
