Phyllis M. (McGarvey) Borbely - 85, of Richlandtown, PA; formerly of Trooper, PA entered into glory on Friday, March 15, 2013 at Phoebe Richland Health Care Center.
She was the wife of the late Frank Borbely, Jr. for 45 years and preceded her in death in 1996.
Phyllis was born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Stephen McGarvey & Kathryn (Berger) McGarvey.
She graduated from Norristown High School, class of 1945. Phyllis was employed as an Office Administrator for American Baptist Center for 11 years. She was a member of the Radiant Chapter No. 96, Order of the Eastern Star in Norristown, PA where she formerly held the position of Worthy Matron. Phyllis was an avid Phillies fan who enjoyed music, singing with the we-be-phoebe singers and dancing; she brought joy to all of those around her. Phyllis was honored with the Phoebe Ministries Deaconess Award, for enhancing the quality of life of Phoebe Residents.
She was a member of Christ Church United Church of Christ where she sang in the church choir, taught Sunday school, served as a deaconess on the Board of directors as well as serving on many other committees.
Phyllis is survived by her son, Frank Borbely & wife, Donna of Sellersville, PA; her daughter- in-law, Sherry Borbely of Quakertown, PA and her two granddaughters, Bella G Borbely of Sellersville, PA and Ciara M Borbely of Quakertown, PA.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Borbely, her sister, Patricia Godfrey.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at 3:00 pm at Christ Church United Church of Christ, 1003 West Marshall Street, Norristown, Pennsylvania 19401 where friends may meet with the family from 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm.
Inurnment will take place at Riverside Cemetery.
