Gordon L. Dressel, 62, of Eau Claire, Wis., passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, March 16, 2013 with his family at his side, under the care of St. Joseph Hospice.

Gordon was born November 23, 1950 to Warren and Lorraine (Christenson) Dressel in Chippewa Falls, Wis., where he spent his entire childhood and was active in Boy Scouts and school sports. He attended Chippewa Falls High School and graduated in 1969. Following high school he attended Chippewa Valley Technical College and earned a degree in Tool and Die in 1972.

On March 12, 1971 he married Belinda Bruhling at Holy Ghost Church in Chippewa Falls.
Gordon worked for Vaudreuil’s and the Mobile gas station in downtown Chippewa Falls for six years. Then once he graduated CVTC he pursued a job at Cascade Tissue (formerly Pope and Talbot) paper mill in Eau Claire, Wis. He continued to work for the mill until his retirement in 2009 due to health complications.

Gordon had many hobbies he enjoyed throughout his life. He enjoyed hunting out west with family friends in early years. Later he moved on to boating and then transitioned into his favorite hobby of classic cars. Through the years, Gordon has owned muscle cars and then moved more into street rods. With his passion for cars, he gained many close friends who shared this same interest. The friends he met would travel and attend car events together throughout the years.

He is survived by his wife, Belinda; two daughters, Kelly (Bob) Gunzenhauser and Rosalynn (Dan) Roycraft; his mother-in-law, Dorothy Bruhling; one brother, Rodney (Edith) Dressel; one sister, Janet (David) Hodowanic; two brothers-in-law, Benny (Sue) Bruhling and John (Judy) Bruhling and one sister-in-law, Janette Ottinger; two granddaughters, Greta and Grace Gunzenhauser; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Judy Denninger; brother- in-law, David Denninger; father-in-law, Benny Bruhling; his grandparents, Albert and Matilda Dressel and Martin and Margaret Christenson; and aunt, Donna Christenson.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 22 at the Horan Funeral Home in Chippewa Falls. Rev. Eleanor Michaud of Christ Episcopal Church in Chippewa Falls will be officiating. Interment will be in Hope Cemetery in Chippewa Falls.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 21 and until the time of services on Friday at the Horan Funeral Home in Chippewa Falls.

He will be truly missed by his family and friends and his little buddies, Ginger and Gilligan. They will miss their Skipper.
