Robert E. Stone, age 77, of Warsaw, passed away Thursday, February 28, 2013 at the Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton, Missouri. He was born on April 11, 1935 in Lincoln, Missouri the son of Henry and Ida (Yount) Stone.
He grew up in Windsor and attended school there. On July 3, 1955 he was united in marriage to Doris Bentch, making their home in Windsor. He worked for International Shoe Company until he was drafted into the United States Army in 1958. He served in Korea and was honorably discharged in 1961. Afterwards he began work as a lineman for the telephone company, moving to Warsaw in 1968. He retired in 1991 after 27 years of employment.
Bob was a life member of the VFW Post #5894 of Warsaw, the National Rifle Association and the Warsaw Nazarene Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking.
He is survived by his wife Doris, of the home, two daughters, Connie Foster and her husband Rick, of Cross Timbers, Missouri and Nancy Yount and her husband Bret, of Olathe, Kansas, two grandchildren, Ross Foster and his wife Krista and Karlie Yount, three step grandchildren, Kayla, Brittan and Tanner Yount, two sisters Leona Woodward and Betty Creach and her husband Glen, all of Windsor, nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services for Robert E. Stone will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday March 4, 2013 at the Reser Funeral Home, in Warsaw. Visitation will be held Sunday afternoon from 3:00 until 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment and Military Rites will be held at the Riverside Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to the VFW Post #5894 of Warsaw or the Benton County Hospice.
