David L. Babcock

David L. Babcock has passed on from his temporary home here on earth to the home of his Maker who welcomes everyone with open arms. Dave was an extraordinary man who treated everyone with kindness & respect. In return, he was loved by all who had the good fortune of knowing him.


Dave was born in Newton, Iowa on 1-31-41 and lived there with his parents and siblings until he was 12 years old. Thereafter, he moved with his parents to Lansdale, PA and graduated from North Penn High School in 1959. In 1962, Dave joined the Army and spent two of his four years in Germany. As a younger man in the seventies & early eighties he was an avid golfer in the Bucks County area. He was a member of St. Paul's Methodist in Warrington, PA and Keystone Fellowship in North Wales, PA. Dave's employment consisted of steadily working for many years as a machinist at Penn Engineering in Danboro, PA, Accupac, Lansdale, PA, and Teva Pharmaceuticals, Sellersville, PA. He retired from Teva on January 8, 2010.


In addition to his wife, Dolli Babcock, Dave is survived by two sisters: Iva Mae Hummel of Hutchinson, KS and Carolyn Wignall of Moline, IL. Dave is also survived by two sons, one daughter, one daughter-in-law, two granddaughters, and two great-grandsons, as follows: Eric Schafer and his companion, Michelle Greer of Dublin, PA; Daniel Babcock and Christine Babcock of Souderton, PA; Justine Wintje of Philadelphia, PA; Amanda Wintje of Chalfont, PA; Rachel Babcock of Souderton, PA; and Twin Great-Grandsons, Taylor James Affleck & Shane Michael Affleck.


A memorial service will be held at the chapel in the Beulah Cemetery, 238 Almshouse Road, New Britain, PA, on Saturday, April 20th, at 11 AM, followed by a graveside military honors service.
