Lawrence S. Gale, 92, of 14832 185th St., Jim Falls, town of Eagle Point, died Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chippewa Falls.
He was born November 19, 1920 in Fifield, Wis., the son of Theodore and Louise (Hippler) Gale.
On February 22, 1944, he married Elaine Frenette in Cadott at St. Rose of Lima Church.
He served in the United States Army Air Corp from 1945 to 1946.
Lawrence was an avid fisherman and hunter.
He did carpentry work and heavy construction work in South America for 2 years and then worked for Linhart Construction for 35 years and also for Art Horgen.
Lawrence is survived by three sons, Steven Michael (Barbara) Gale of Jim Falls, Harold Joseph (Carol) Gale of New Auburn and Larry Daniel (Carol) Gale of Chippewa Falls; two daughters, Bettyann (Vern) McIlquham and Mary Louise Nesja both of Bloomer; one sister, Ella Welch of Chippewa Falls; 13 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine in 1998; one son, Eugene; and his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at the Horan Funeral Home in Chippewa Falls. Rev. Jim Gale will be officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Chippewa Falls. Military rites will be conducted by the Chippewa Falls Patriotic Council.
