Helen A. (Sadowski) Babcock, 96, of 40 Prescott St., died Tuesday, February 5, 2013 in UMass Memorial Healthcare, Memorial Campus, Worcester, following an illness.
She is survived by a daughter, Ella A. Barras and her companion, Albert Lee, of Lancaster; four grandchildren: Christine Robinson and her husband, George,Jr., of Lunenburg, Marie Barras of Sterling, Vincent Barras and his wife, Raquel, of Leominster, and Eileen Edgeland and her husband, John, of Clinton; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters: Ann Bekier of Clinton and Mary O'Bara of Leominster;
several nieces and nephews.
Born in Clinton, the daughter of Paul and Anna (Kalinowski) Sadowski, Helen was raised in Lancaster. She was a graduate of the former Lancaster High School and attended Becker College, Worcester.
For many years before her retirement, Helen worked as a medical secretary in the office of Dr. Jacobson in Lancaster. Previously, she worked at the former Empire Furniture Company in Clinton.
She was a life member of the former Our Lady of Jasna Gora Church, and a member of St. John, Guardian of Our Lady Parish.
Helen's funeral will be held on Monday, February 11, 2013 with a Service at 12:00 Noon in the McNally & Watson Funeral Home, 304 Church Street, Clinton. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Lancaster. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a calling period on Monday morning from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., prior to the funeral service.
