Doris M. Kirst

Doris M. Kirst, nee Slavik, of Newburg died on Thursday, December 5, 2012 at the Aurora Health Center – Grafton at the age of 86 years. She was born on July 10, 1926 in Newburg to the late Joseph and Helen (nee Bell) Slavik. Doris was a life long resident of Newburg.

On October 21, 1950, she was united in marriage to Jerome H. Kirst at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Newburg. Jerome predeceased March 28, 1999.

For many years, Doris worked as a postal clerk with the United States Postal Service in Newburg. She also assisted at various post offices in the area. After her retirement, she worked for the Village of Newburg as a poll worker.

Throughout her life, she enjoyed spending time traveling, playing cards and playing bingo.

She was a member of the Christian Women’s Confraternity at Holy Trinity Catholic Church and the Women Of The Moose West Bend Chapter #732.

Survivors include 2 sons Kevin (Jill) of Port Washington and Steve (Patti) of West Bend; 3 grandchildren Scott, LCpl. Shawn Kirst, USMC and Ashley (fiancée Matt Ingish); 2 brothers-in-law Ken Schanen of Florida and Herbert (Emily) Kirst of Newburg; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 1 sister Carolyn Schanen, 2 sisters-in-law Lillian (Ben) Blazel and Dorothy (Hugo) Dorn and 1 brother-in-law Willard (Marie) Kirst.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 8 at 2 p.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Newburg. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. The family will greet relatives and friends at the church only on Saturday from 11 a.m. until 1:45 p.m.
