Alouise Davidson McConnaughey Cherry, 82, of Centralia passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2012, at her home.

She was born November 26, 1929 in Centralia, daughter of John and Birdie (Settlemoir) Davidson. She married James Wesley McConnaughey June 21, 1947. He preceded her in death on October 14, 1950. She married Billy Jay Cherry on June 10, 1951. He preceded her in death on July 18, 2009.

She is survived by one daughter, Deborah Zimmerman of Centralia and one son, David Cherry and wife Shaning of Panama City, Florida. Three grandchildren, Mark Zimmerman and wife Susan of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, Michael Zimmerman of Ranson, West Virginia, and Amber Detering and husband Brett of Anna, Illinois. Nine great-grandchildren: Sydney, McKenna, Maxwell, and Savannah Zimmerman; Noelle and Zachary Zimmerman; Ashley, Andrew, and Austin Detering.
One step grandson, David Owens and wife Marcella of England. Three step great-grandchildren: Aja, Juoaquin, and Ihilani Owens.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, two brothers, Jesse and Doyle Davidson, and one sister, Agnes Tucker.
She worked as a volunteer at St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia for several years and enjoyed everyday.

Funeral Services for Alouise Cherry will be held Sunday, November 25, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia. Burial will follow at Bell Cemetery in Iuka. Friends may call from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. Saturday evening at the funeral home. Memorial donations may made to the American Heart Association and will be received at Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia, which is in charge of arrangements.
