Edith "Ida" Borgia, 99, of Clarks Summit, died Saturday evening at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late David and Adina Materazzi Allegrucci. Before retirement, she worked in the garment industry in Scranton for many years. She was a member of the Church of St. Benedict.
She loved to play cards and do crossword puzzles and was an avid reader. She also enjoyed playing bingo with her friends at Abington Manor. She was a loving aunt, devoted to the entire family.
Surviving are her niece and caregiver, Diane Stryweski and husband, Ted, Clarks Summit; great-niece, Carla Stryweski Daniels and husband, Cliff, Tunkhannock; great-nephew, Ted Stryweski, Clarks Summit; great-nieces and a nephew, who brought her the most joy, Gina and Elana Daniels; Tori Stryweski and Jimmy Kinney; she asked about them daily.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, John "Jack" Allegrucci; and two sisters, Margaret Allegrucci and Jennie Ragona.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. in the Church of St. Benedict, Newton-Ransom Boulevard, Clarks Summit. All those attending are asked to go directly to church. Interment will be in the Italian-American Cemetery, Minooka section of Scranton.
Friends may call Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit.
