Donald Baumrucker, age 66, of Swampscott, loving partner of Carol Stoddard with whom he has shared the past 10 years, died unexpectedly Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at North Shore Medical Center after suffering a heart attack.


Born in Chicago, IL the so of the late William and Doris (Duley) Baumrucker, he was raised and educated in Marblehead attending the Coffin School. A graduate of Marblehead High School Class of 1964, he attended Lawrence University and received both his Bachelor’s Degree and MBA from Northeastern University. Following his graduation, he joined the United States Army serving in the Viet Nam War for almost four years. Honorably discharged as a Captain, he later established and has operated his accounting business in Marblehead for almost 20 years.


In addition to Carol, he is survived by two daughters Kimberly and her husband Darrin Black of Pittsburgh, PA and Kristin and her husband Lt. CDR John Cashman, USCG; a brother Robert Baumrucker of Marblehead, a sister Dorothy Baumrucker of Tewksbury; three grandchildren Elizabeth and William Cashman and London Black; and Carol’s children, Jon, his wife Stef and their children Noah and Lia of Boulder, CO,
, Peter Stoddard of Berkeley, CA, Michael Stoddard of Swampscott and Mark Stoddard of Boulder, CO.


Always upbeat, Don enjoyed every day! He loved to sail, play golf, sing, sports, and animals, however there was nothing more important to him than his family and friends. His generous nature always shone through and has continued in his passing as an organ donor.


A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 4:30 PM in the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., (cor of North St) Salem. Visitation will be prior to the service in Saturday from 2:00 PM to 4:30PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Northeast Animal Shelter, 347 Highland Avenue, Salem, MA 01970.
