Patrick Michael Bock, 72, of Brainerd, passed away Sunday, August 28, 2011 at St. Cloud Hospital. He was born March 17, 1939 to Leon and Esther (Mulholland) Bock. Patrick married Mary Rose Hines on November 1, 1958.
Patrick loved his large family. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, ricing, horse shoes, cooking, his dogs, westerns, and the food network. He was famous for his baked beans. Patrick worked at logging, was a mechanic and drove school bus for Riverton School. He worked at the state hospital for 32 years. He did volunteer work for Camp Confidence and was in the guards and reserves for 33 years. Patrick built several baseball fields including the Jaycee’s Park/Biathalon Courts at Camp Ripley. He hauled hay during drought; cut & hauled wood for the needy; hauled food for fair share. Patrick put flags out through town for Memorial Day, Veterans Day, Flag Day and the 4th of July. He would drive the military trucks in the parade.
He is survived by his wife Mary ; children; Michael (Becky Buchite), Marilyn (Robert) Fanjoy, Richard (Bonita), John (Viola), Joe (Stacey Bachman), Julie ( Michael “Greg”) McCullough, Denise Bock; 31 grandkids; 35 great-grandkids and 3 on the way; siblings; Clifford & Jean Bock, Delbert & Betty Bock, Vera & Rex Mason, Leona & Russ Mason; sister-in-laws; Rosemary Bock (Vernon) and Helen Bock (Lawrence);.
Patrick was preceded in death by his parents; son, Robert Lee Bock; brothers; Lester Bock, Lawrence Bock, Vernon Bock.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 1, 2011 at Lakes Area Church of Christ, 7001 Highland Scenic Rd, in Baxter Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Home and 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
