Funeral services will be held June 13, 2011 at the Starbuck Lind Mortuary in Lompoc with viewing at 1 PM and services at 2PM with Reverend Ehrhardt Lang presiding. Burial will follow at the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.

She was born February 10, 1932 to Hobart and Martha Chastain and preceded in death by her first husband Fred Atkin who died April 15, 1991.

She is survived by two sisters, Jannie Wahl and Alberta Moffatt, brother James Johnson, son John F. (Jack) Atkin and his wife Linda, five grandchildren, Christine Kreps, Brenda Saletta, Debra Magallanes, Shane Atkin and John D. Atkin. six great-grandchildren Joshua, Brandon, Kelsey, Kyle, Tyler and Karley. There are numerous nieces and nephews.

She was an active church member of the Bethany Baptist Church in Boulder City, Nevada and until recently was an active volunteer at Veterans Home in Boulder City, Nevada.

She came to Lompoc in 1953 from St. George, Utah where she lived until 1991 before moving to Nevada. While residing in Lompoc, she was a member of the Miguelito Chapter of the Eastern Star, Member of the Lompoc Valley Board of Realtors, Toastmistress and Soroptimist Clubs. She was also a volunteer driver for the American Cancer Society and delivered Meals on Wheels.

She was a Real Estate Broker for 28 years in the Lompoc Valley working for Red Carpet, National and A R Realty.

She loved beach combing, motorcycle riding and flying.
