Welcome and thank you for visiting the VanderLaan Funeral Home website.

VanderLaan Funeral Home has been serving the needs of families in West Michigan since 1949 by providing pre-planning, burial, funeral and cremation services. We have consistently updated our services to keep pace with the ever changing needs of the community. Our spacious visitation rooms and chapel have been designed to provide a comfortable home-like atmosphere with ease of access for the elderly and handicapped.  Each viewing room has a high-definition display for video and photo presentations.

Our staff consists of well qualified individuals who are at your service 24 hours a day. We listen and work very closely with you, by assisting in the planning of a service that meets and fulfills your wishes. A service can be designed to fit any budget. Our staff will help you review service options and select the type of service that meets your needs. We know that during some of the most difficult and painful times of your life, professionalism and compassion are what you need the most.

If you have questions or need assistance please call us anytime at 616.669.6654.

We want to take the opportunity to thank the community for their support and prayers for Fred and our family during his battle with cancer. Even though he is no longer with us, our tradition of a family owned and operated funeral home continues with the recent addition of Richard VanderLaan and Kelly VanderLaan to our staff. Richard and Kelly are the children of the late Fred VanderLaan and current owner, Joanne VanderLaan and the grandchildren of the founder, the late Raymond VanderLaan.

RENOVATION PROJECT

Our front doors are open!

Please pardon our appearance as we improve the parking area and update the interior.  Follow the progress on our facebook page under the album, "Renovations".

We have one room open for visitations. The lobby and hallway are carpeted also. We hope to have the rest of the carpet in the 2nd week of March and then the draperies and furniture the following week.

The lower level will be completed when we know we have no more water seeping in. The parking area and landscaping will be completed in the spring.

Thank you for your patience.

God Bless America and our Troops
