Steven graduated from the Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service in 1999, and was honored to be the Class Valedictorian that year. His graduation was a milestone in a 15 year career in funeral service. He firmly believes that excellence in funeral service means “providing a genuine, compassionate service for all families we serve; putting their needs first, and providing them the support they need to take the next steps in life.” Steve is a member of Impact Family Church, Mayo Rotary Club, Lafayette County Chamber of Commerce, and Taylor County Cookers. Steve has been married to his beautiful wife for 19 years and has two son Jonathan and Matthew.
Tommy has proudly served twenty four years in funeral service. While he graduated from the Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service in 1992, Tommy had entered the profession earlier, as a support staff member. He brings a long-standing commitment to excellence in service. He has often said, “Treat families as if they were your own. And always remember that the family you are serving is going through a most difficult time, and go ‘the extra mile’ for them.” Tommy is a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Perry Kiwanis, Perry Masonic Lodge #123, and Taylor County Chamber of Commerce. He has also served as a past board member, and President of Taylor County Cookers, and as a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans Camp 2012 of Perry. Tommy has been married to his wife, Cyndi, for the past 11 years and has 3 children Chris, Kelsea, and Wyatt.

Mark is the third member of our staff to have studied at the Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service, and graduated from there in 2002. His ten years in funeral service shaped his fundamental belief that excellence in funeral service means “compassionate, caring services with sincerity.” He takes this to heart, “making families feel like they are the center of our attention, through their difficult time.” Mark is a member of St. Johns Christian Fellowship, Perry Rotary Club, and the Gideon Camp of Perry.

We are very pleased to have Rusty join our family in serving the people of Madison County. Rusty has been a long time funeral director here in Madison, and is well respected in the community.
Director of Operations
John has over 25 years expierence in the funeral industry. His attention to detail is un matched, and is in charge of arranging all the details of our services. He has become a great asset to the funeral home, allowing our funeral directors more time with families, clergy, and the community in general. He is member of Perry First Church of God.
Connie was employed with the office of Vital Statistics before coming to work with the funeral home. She understands the importance getting all necessary paperwork done correctly and in timely manner so the family can finalize all details that follow the funeral service. She goes the extra mile for those who call on her, whether locating death certificates, or processing insurance. She is an integral part of the operation of the funeral home, that would not be able to function without her.
Advance Planning/Preneed Specialist
Karen has been employed with the funeral home since 2009. Karen is our licensed pre need agent, assisting families in pre planning their final arrangements. She has become a wonderful addition to our family, and helps provide the comfort to our families that their final wishes will be as they have planned. Karen is a member of Westside Baptist Church of Perry and is married to Flynn Welch. They have two children, Lukas and Katelyn.
Mrs. Ellie has been a valuable employee with Burns Funeral Home for the past 19 years. She assists our families during visistations, and assists families in processing their payments on pre arranged funerals. She is a lifelong resident of Perry. She currently works for the Supervisor of Elections office, after being employeed with the Tax Collector office for many years. Mrs. Ellie is a member of Lakeside Baptist Church of Perry, and attends New Home Baptist Church.
Bobby has been an employee with the funeral home for the past 15 years. He is well thought of at our funeral home, for the level of comfort he gives to the families we serve, and that he knows so well. He is a member of Westside Baptist Church, leading the music ministry there.
David is a longtime resident of Perry, where he has become recognized for his true caring nature. He is community minded, and one that the funeral home has come to appreciate and depend on. He stands ready to assist families in their time of need, and offers a unique perspective, having been in many their shoes. He is member of New Home Baptist Church of Perry.

Bro. Paul has been working with the funeral home for the past 4 years, and has quickly become someone that we can rely on. He is the pastor of Faith Baptist Chrch of Perry, and has the ability to extend his ministry here at the funeral home, and gives us comfort in knowing that he can deliver that message of hope through Jesus Christ our Lord. Bro.Paul is founder of the Character education program in our local schools, and something we are very proud to be apart of.
