Michael Johnson is a 2nd generation Funeral Director/Embalmer and co-owner with his parents Gregg and Nancy Johnson. Michael was raised in Amador County and is a graduate of Argonaut High School . He joined Daneri Mortuary in 1990 as an apprentice embalmer and facilities manager. Over the span of 15 years, Michael grew in all the multiple aspects of the mortuary and cemetery business, completing his initial education at Cypress College in Cypress, California and has completed California’s requirements for proficiency as a Funeral Director, Embalmer, Preneed Insurance Agent, and Cemetery Salesman. Michael married his wife Kimberly in 1989, who grew up in Poway, California, San Diego County. They have five children and made their home in Jackson. Kimberly is a homemaker and teaches their children at home. The Johnson's vision for the future of the family business is one of commitment. We continued our long standing effort to provide quality care through our professional staff, up-to-date equipment and facilities, ongoing training and education.
Gregg & Nancy Johnson
Gregg & Nancy together have many years of experience in the funeral industry. Formerly sole owners of Daneri Mortuary, they now leave the day-to-day operations to their son Michael, while helping when needed. The Senior Johnson’s are both highly qualified professionals. Gregg, a Funeral Director and Embalmer, has 43 years of mortuary service, the last 27 years at Daneri’s. Nancy, also a Funeral Director, has been involved with the business since 1980. They were high school sweethearts and have been married for 42 years. Gregg and Nancy have 3 grown sons, Michael being the youngest. They are proud grandparents of 11 grandchildren.
Paul has been with Daneri Mortuary since June of 2006 as a Funeral Counselor, Preneed Arrangement Counselor and Cemetery Salesperson. He has worked many years in the funeral industry and owned his own funeral home in South Lake Tahoe. Paul brings a great deal of expertise to the families he serves at Daneri Mortuary. He lives in Jackson with his wife, Nicole, daughter, Dalany, son, Wesley, and best friend Tenny the family dog. He enjoys helping people in need, so volunteering as a firefighter for the Jackson Fire Department fit right in to his life. Paul attends a local church and is always on the go with his family.
Regina has been with Daneri Mortuary since January of 2006. She is a Funeral Counselor, Preneed Arrangement Counselor and Cemetery Salesperson. By nature she enjoys serving others and Daneri Mortuary provides the perfect setting for her to serve families at a very difficult time in their lives. Families can be confident their loved ones are receiving the best care possible not only by Regina but the entire Daneri staff. Regina was raised in Calaveras County and has made Amador County her home since 1990. She graduated from Stanislaus State University with her Bachelor’s in Psychology. Regina has been married to her husband, Mike since December of 2000. Mike is a commissioning authority for RSACx located in El Dorado Hills. Regina has a son, Garrett who joined the U.S. Navy in 2005 and is currently an E5, 2nd class with the submarine division. Garrett married Susanna Kruseman September 11, 2010 and they currently live in San Diego. She has a daughter, Danica who is currently a personal care assistant at Oak Manor Residential Care in Jackson. Danica is such a kind and loving young woman and Regina is so proud of the work that she does. In March of 2012 Mike and Regina finalized the adoption of their son, Michael Henry Schowengerdt, Jr. He currently attends Ione Elementary School and is in the 4th grade. Regina feels she has been very blessed in life with a wonderful family, career and great friends at work and outside of work.
Judy has been serving families at Daneri Mortuary for over twelve years. Judy is vital to our day to day operation. She oversees everything in our busy office. When she is not serving families here, she enjoys working on her small farm with her animals, playing the piano, and attending a local church. Judy is also a member of a writers group and has published her first children’s book, "Hector’s Flight to Friendship" and is working on another.

Nanci is new to Daneri as the facilitator of our New Horizons grief renewal group.
She looks forward to planning the monthly leisure outings and being able to encourage and support you as you move through the grieving process.
Nanci is a lover of the outdoors; she has traveled internationally, and is always on the hunt for a friend who shares the same affinity for international cuisine.
