James (Jim) R. Hansen Jr.

Jim has served the families of Genesee and Lapeer Counties for numerous years. He is a 1971 graduate of Davison Community Schools and was during this time he started his journey in funeral service as a EMT and staff member for the Raysin Funeral Home. He recieved his Associate of Science Degree at Mott Community College, and graduated from Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science and was granted a Michigan Mortuary Science License in 1979. He returned to Michigan and was employed by Baird-Newton Funeral Home of Lapeer and Columbiaville.In January of 1996 he opened the Hansen Funeral Home and Hansen EMS in Downtown Davison returning to the community of his roots. The funeral home is located in the former Groves Memorial Chapel, which had served the families of Davison and surrounding areas since 1886. His community involvement spans some thirty years of service in many areas of the community. He is a member of the Davison Chamber of Commerce, and Past President of the Chamber of Commerce, and a member of Davison Eagles #3589. He is a former city councilman and had served on many city committees and boards such as the Davison Senior Board and the former Davison Area Parks and Recreation Board. He is a member of St. John Catholic Church and served on the St. John Cemetery Board for over twenty years, along with several other church committees. Professionally, Jim is a member of the Academy of Professional Funeral Service and Michigan Funeral Directors Association.He led his staff to three national awards by the National Funeral directors Association, and has served as a MFDA District 7 officer for five years.He also served on the MFDA State Board along with several state committees. Jim resides in Davison with his wife Karla of forty-one years, and has two daughters. Kristen Hansen Bullock owner of Davison Main Street Salon and resides in Richfield Twp, Katie Hansen, Funeral Director at the funeral home and a resident of Davison City.
Katie Hansen a resident of Davison area her entire life, a graduate of Davison High School class of 1999. Katie then went on to Mott Community College where she received her Associates Degree in General Studies, and then received her Mortuary Science degree from Worsham College of Mortuary Science in Chicago, Illinois, graduating in 2006. Katie is active member of the Davison Chamber of Commerce,a member of Davison Fraternal Order of Eagles #3589, Michigan Funeral Director Association District #7, and served four years as a District Officer. A member of St. John Evangelist Catholic Church of Davison, and served several years on compensation board for the City of Davison. Katie resides in Davison with her husband Josh Batoha and twin boys Kaden and Kasen.
