Aurelia Moore Dykes
(December 5, 1931 - September 2, 2012)

A celebration of life for Aurelia M. Dykes will be held on Tuesday, September 4, at 2PM at First Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Bradley officiating. Interment will follow at Baldwin Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Dykes went to be with our Lord on Sunday, morning September 2nd She was born in Dodge County and spent most of her life in Baldwin County.

She was the daughter of the late Clifford Ollie Moore and Rose Rogers Moore and was preceded in death by her husband James Clinton Dykes, Sr., a brother C.O. Moore, Jr., and sister, Gynelle Manning.

Mrs. Dykes was a woman of faith who lived out her Christianity in caring acts of kindness. She treasured her church family and was honored to have served as Deacon of First Baptist Church and as past president of her Faith Sunday School Class. She served on numerous church committees over the years. She retired as Financial Aid Director with Georgia College & State University. She enjoyed membership with Learning in Retirement, Retired Educators, Prime Timers and served as Treasurer for her Neighborhood Watch. She was a devoted wife, mother, sisters and friend.

Survivors include children Rhonda D. Williams of Milledgeville, James Clinton Dykes, Jr. and wife Lisa along with the grandson she adored, Brett of Gordon, a special family friend Robert D. Cook, of Davisboro, GA; Brothers, Scotty Moore (Beverly) and Marland (Bubba) Moore of Chester, Georgia and sister Bernease Butts (Woody) of Cochran.

The family will receive friends Monday from 6PM until 8PM at Moores Funeral Home.
