James Wallace James Wallace "Jimmy" Durden
(July 7, 1953 - August 26, 2012)

James Wallace “Jimmy” Durden, age 59, passed away Sunday, August 26, 2012. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 31, 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Moores Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Kitchen and Rev. Jim Nipper officiating. Burial will follow in West View Cemetery.

Jimmy was a native of Milledgeville was a 1972 graduate of Baldwin High School where he played baseball and football and was named all-state his junior and senior years. He later attended South Georgia College on a baseball scholarship then went to North Alabama College to play football under Coach Mickey Andrews where he was the placekicker and fullback. After graduation Jimmy worked in Alabama for Southern Guarantee Land & Timber Company. He later moved to Athens and worked for Olive Branch Land & Timber Company from 1986 until 1994. He then returned to Milledgeville to take care of his mother. He was preceded in death by his father Raymond J. Durden. He attended Northridge Christian Church.

Survivors include his mother, Mary Usery Durden of Milledgeville, his sister Jeannie Durden Riner (Mark), and nephew Shane Riner of McIntyre, his uncle W.J. Usery (Fran) of Milledgeville and his cousin Melvin Usery (Elise) of Fernandina Beach, FL.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moores Funeral Home.
