Doris Clark Aytes, 81, of Ladson, SC, died Saturday morning at her daughter’s residence.

Her services will be private, according to DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, Moncks Corner.

Mrs. Aytes was born on July 17, 1931, in Vance, SC, a daughter of Jessie James Clark and Birdie Lee Mitchum Clark. She attended Ridge Baptist Church, and enjoyed taking care of her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Aytes was the former owner/operator of D&H Seafood, and loved crabbing, fishing, and being on the water. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Louise Gill, Ester Judy, and Betty Alexander, and a brother, Jessie Clark. Mrs. Aytes was the widow of Henry Burton Aytes, Jr.

Surviving are two daughters, Kathy Ledbetter, and her husband, William, of Moncks Corner, and Deborah Claud, of Bonneau; five sons, Roy Aytes, of Ladson, Timothy Aytes, and his wife, Lisa, of Moncks Corner, Gary Aytes, of Ladson, Henry Aytes, III, and his wife, Katie, of Hampton, Arthur Aytes, and his wife Suzy, of Hampton; three sisters, Crystal Fournier, and her husband, George, of North Charleston, Mildred Teachout, and her husband, Bob, of Conover, NC, and Emily Stump, of Windsor, PA; a brother, Albert Clark, and his wife, Elizabeth, of Cottageville; ten grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and several great great grandchildren.
