Betty Hargrove Davis age 80 passed away Friday, July 27, 2012. Services will be held at 11AM Monday, July 30, at the chapel of Moores Funeral Home with Dr. Mike Cavin, Rev. Marvin Mason and Rev. Billy Hargrove officiating. Burial will follow at Sparta Cemetery.

Mrs. Davis was a native of Port Wentworth, Georgia but had made her home in Milledgeville and Sparta for most of her life. She was a graduate of Savannah High School and also graduated from the Warren A. Candler School of Nursing in Savannah. She was a Registered Nurse and retired from Central State Hospital. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Joe Sidney Davis, Jr.

Survivors include three daughters Debbie McMullen (Ronald), Mary Boyer (Barney) and Linda Yaun all of Milledgeville, a brother Donald Howell of Port Wentworth, GA, grandchildren, Dylan Grace (Kristin), Dustin Grace, Ian McMullen (Ruth), Jason McMullen (Leah), Sidney Yaun, Trevor Boyer and Grayson Yaun, a brother-in-law Billy Davis (Phyllis) of Sparta, sisters-in-law, Blanche Scoggins of Columbia, SC, Louise Moore Arrington (Gordon) of Crawfordville, Martha Mixon of Statesboro and Mary Frances Abernathy (Paul) of Greensboro and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church 366 Log Cabin Rd. Milledgeville, GA 31061.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 6PM until 8PM at Moores Funeral Home.
